COVID-19 and the Santa Fe Real Estate Market
Despite the crippling COVID-19 pandemic, the Santa Fe real estate market is healthy. Stay-at-home orders have reduced foot traffic, but buyer demand is still strong, and the inventory of homes for sale in Colorado Springs remains low.
Although the momentum has slowed, we’re still helping customers buy and sell homes in Santa Fe! The only thing that has changed is the process. Safety measures may seem restrictive, but they are in place to help protect both buyers and sellers.
Is Real Estate an Essential Service?
Are real estate transactions (buying and selling) considered “essential” in New Mexico amid the COVID-19 stay-at-home order? Yes! All real estate activities that are related to the transaction (including closings, appraisals, inspections, lending, title companies, and notaries) are considered essential services.
COVID-19 Real Estate Market Changes
So, you may be wondering, “If real estate is an essential service, does this mean it’s still business as usual?”
Not quite… but we’re adapting to these unprecedented changes. We are taking measures to protect our clients and make sure they are fully informed about the temporary guidelines throughout the process. I’m wearing my mask and asking others to do the same.
Your health and safety are our number one priority, and we’re continuing to serve our clients while adhering to all the requirements and regulations mandated in the New Mexico state order.
- Open Houses are currently not allowed
- In-person showings are subject to the Seller and Listing Agents approval
- Limits on all number of people engaging in-person activity are five or less
- Following social distancing guidelines set forth by the CDC
- Virtual Showing/Tours are encouraged
Masks and Gloves at All Times
Wearing a mask not only protects us but also protects our clients. That is why we wear non-surgical masks, gloves during the home inspection and walk-through. We will even be wearing a mask, and gloves when we come into your home for the listing appointment and photo shoot.
The New Normal
Although the way we do things has changed, the demand for buying or selling a home in Santa Fe has not decreased. More people than ever want to move here! Whether you’re buying or selling a home, we can help you through the process with all safety measures in place to protect us all and ensure that you receive the best possible customer experience.
